Are you proud of your garden? Then children’s hospice charity Greenfingers wants to hear from you.
Greenfingers Charity
The charity would like as many garden owners as possible to open their gates to visitors during 2017 and help them raise money towards their work providing gardens for children and their families staying in hospices.
If friends and family regularly admire your garden, it’s likely others will enjoy visiting it too. Don’t worry if you haven’t got rolling acres: some of the best open gardens are those which make really creative use of very small spaces. You could join forces with the neighbours and hold a joint open gardens event.
Greenfingers Open Gardens
Spruce up your garden before the big day, mowing the lawn and evicting any weeds – but don’t fret if it isn’t completely perfect. Visitors will be just as interested in a ‘work in progress’ as in a spotlessly tidy completed project. Enlist friends and family to help as car parking stewards, ticket sellers and tea pourers – visitors are likely to appreciate simple refreshments so provide a few homemade cakes or a nice cup of tea. It’s a lovely chance to share your garden with others, and perhaps meet some like-minded fellow gardeners. Interested? Let Greenfingers know at www.greenfingerscharity.org.uk!
